Why is my Ti Calculator have negative results which should be positive with certain exponents? - negative calculator

Hello to all. I have this strange problem with my TI-84. For example, if I -4 ^ 2. The answer should be 16th But I am -16. There are some settings that should be changed to resolve this problem, change sign. BTW, this happens only when a negative basis.

Remember, the order of operations. The calculator is -4 ^ 2 as two different things: 4 ^ 2, and it will not (which is multiplied by -1). If you want to really say on the plaza of -4, you must put brackets (-4) ^ 2. Or do you know the answer will be positive, forget the negatives.

TI recognize -4 ^ 2 as -1 * 4 ^ 2, is the 16th So for 16 years, you have to) add in parentheses -4 (ie, (-4) ^ 2 so that it recognizes the number of integers instead of numbers.

You need brackets, like this (-4) ^ 2.

The way that you created in the computer, like "the opposite of 4 square" is the -16. When put in parentheses to know the host, which means "four to the square negative.

Graphing calculators are great, but you have to tell you exactly what to do.

If you are only at the 4 position, but not the negative, the type of -4 ^ 2.

Both to be square for the negative and 4 writes (-4) ^ 2.
