However, the school administration recommended that the test substance, consult an ophthalmologist for an eye test to pediatric. I'm not sure which way to go.

First, take your child to a neurologist when you see a physical problem, neurological treatment. If there are no neurological problems, then a pediatric ophthalmologist.
Opticians children, specializing as a behavioral optometrist them to problems in perception. Pediatric ophthalmologists and opticians others do not. Usually, it checks whether a child needs glasses, and if the eyes are healthy. A doctor will you have specific behavioral tests, dealing with issues of visual perception. For more information about percectual vision problems and how they can affect your child and you go find a qualified ophthalmologist http://www.children-special-needs.org/ behavior. You can contact me via e-mail if you have any questions or I can be of benefit.

I begin with the ophthalmologist, they must conduct a thorough investigation, and on the basis of these results from there. Its possible that he / she only needs glasses. If it something that requires a specialist, your doctor will refer you to someone.

An eye doctor can explain the information you need. They will be trained in visual perception, but if your child has other worries that could be caused, and may further testing is required, an ophthalmologist would be better. Basically the only difference is that the eye doctor can do surgery on the eye. (I'm sure there are other reasons)
